No changes in fuel prices

PETALING JAYA: There are no changes in the fuel prices for the week starting Saturday (April 6).

The Finance Ministry said from April 6-12, the prices of RON97, RON95 and diesel will remain at RM2.63 per litre, RM2.08 per litre, and RM2.18 per litre respectively.

It said the petrol prices would take effect from 12.01am on Saturday.

“Based on the calculation under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), the retail price of RON95 and diesel between April 6 and April 12 should have been RM2.33 per litre and RM2.36 per litre respectively.

“However, the retail prices were retained at RM2.08 per litre (for RON95) and RM2.18 per litre (for diesel) following the Cabinet decision to reduce the people’s financial burden,” it said in a statement on Friday (April 5).

The weekly fuel pricing mechanism was reintroduced on Jan 5 under APM.

Under this system, weekly fuel prices are announced every Friday and remains in force for one week.
