Malaysia has been given the right to host the 9th edition of the FIT Touch World Cup scheduled from April 29 to May 4 at the Putrajaya Equestrian Park.
After a highly successful staging in Coffs Harbour, the World Cup moves to South East Asia for the first time. The World Cup brings the best Touch players from around the globe to decide who is World Champion.
Touch, also known as Touch Football or Touch Rugby around the world, is a thrilling sport that allows people of all walks of life to achieve their goals; whether that is the thrill of challenging oneself to compete at their best, the thrill of a fast, skilful and exhilarating sport, the thrill of meeting new people or the thrill of being a part of something that can span a lifetime.
A total of 2,400 participants representing 26 countries will be working hard over 6 days of competition, their mission to pursue the title of World Champions. FIT Touch is played officially in 47 member countries and in many more nations that have not yet joined the world group.
This major international sports tourism event is expected to generate more than RM50 million revenue for Malaysia as it involves participants and supporters from high spending countries including the UK, Europe and Australia.
