IPOH: She is in a better place now, the family said after an eight-month-old baby’s battle against hydrocephalus has come to an end.
The baby named Nur Umairah Jannah died at the Hospital Cancelor Tuanku Mukhriz (HCTM) in Bandar Tun, Razak, Kuala Lumpur at 3pm yesterday.
“Her aunt called me in tears. I was told that she passed away due to some unforeseen circumstances. It broke my heart, but I know Nur Umairah is in a better place right now.
“We want to thank everyone who has offered to help her. Ever since her story went viral, the family told me that they received help almost every day. We thank you, everyone, for all your kind help, moral support and prayers.
“We also want to thank the doctors and medical teams from HCTM for their dedication and hard work to save Nur Umairah. What’s important here is that we have tried our best, but Allah loves her more,” said by the family’s neighbor, Mastura Meor Razali.
Nur Umairah was under the care of her aunt Nurul Shafi¬kah Zainuddin, 19. The baby was born with hydrocephalus – which is having cerebrospinal fluid build up within the ventricles of her brain and increasing in the head
The baby also received a visit from the Prime Minister’s wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali last Tuesday.
Nurul Shafikah thanked those who offered help to her niece. “I will always remember how she smiled at me before she left for her operation. I will miss her so much,” she added.
