Govt launches sexual awareness videos aimed at teaching children about safe, unsafe touches

PUTRAJAYA:The government has launched a series of videos to teach young children on sexual awareness, particularly involving safe and bad touches, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

In a collaboration with Google, these videos will be aired on YouTube in the form of one-minute advertisments on children’s shows.

The Women, Family and Community Development Minister wanted children as early as the age of two to know the difference between safe and unsafe touches.

The Deputy Prime Minister said educating young children on the subject is important, taking into consideration that offenders can be among family members or those close to the family.

Dr Wan Azizah added that parents can lodge reports of such incidents through Talian Kasih 15999 and the 999 emergency line.
