Zahid: I didn’t order abduction of Koh and Amri

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has denied ordering the alleged abduction of Pastor Raymond Koh and Amri Che Mat. In 2016, Amri, who was investigated for allegedly spreading Syiah teachings, went missing after he left his home in Kangar at about 11.30pm.

Ahmad Zahid served as the home minister under the former Barisan Nasional administration from May 2013 until May 2018. The police fall under the purview of the Home Ministry.

The Bagan Datuk MP said he had not seen Suhakam’s findings but stressed that the report must be respected.

“At the same time, we must also respect the police institution and in this issue, any investigation that is set to be conducted must be carried out professionally,” he said, adding that the case must be dealt with tactfully.

Koh went missing in 2017 after he was abducted by a group of men in a “professional” style in Petaling Jaya.
