The Kuala Lumpur city centre has been chosen as the destination to host the 8th World Summit on Arts and Culture. Malaysia’s vibrant arts and multi-cultural scene is set for a surge with KL as the host for the upcoming international arts and culture summit, where a large crowd of artists, arts institutions, policy makers worldwide, non-profit organisation, government sectors and other stakeholders will interact among themselves in a global and dynamic world.
The World Summit on Arts and Culture provides an excellent opportunity to ensure the collective vision of building a vibrant, sustainable, and ambitious cultural economy for Malaysia becomes a reality, as it provides an opportunity to discuss key issues of public support for the arts and culture.
The 8th World Summit will be organised jointly with the National Department for Culture and Arts, Malaysia (JKKN), Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia. It will take place in the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
Delegates at the World Summit on Arts and Culture will examine how governments, cultural organisations, creative practitioners, and citizens can – and do – work together to actively lead change. The programme will explore how actors from across the cultural ecosystem and beyond converge or diverge in their response to change using traditional, contemporary or future-oriented perspectives that strengthen adaptive capacity and resilience and achieve purpose and coherence within dynamic conditions.
With shared experience and new insight, delegates will convene on the final day of the Summit to identify how we mobilise our minds to start creating our futures.
