Cocaine worth RM2.4B seized in biggest drug bust

GEORGE TOWN – Malaysian authorities seized 12 tonnes of cocaine with a street value of RM2.4bil in the nation’s biggest ever drug bust.

The cocaine was mixed with 60 tonnes of charcoal, An international drug syndicate is believed to be behind the production us-ing Penang as a transit point.

This was the biggest bust involving drugs according to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador.

The drugs were seized from three containers filled with 60 sacks of coal at Butterworth port.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B Dangerous Drugs Act 1952K
