KUALA LUMPUR – Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) is eyeing to take 36 parliamentary seats in the upcoming general election, says the party founder Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today.
Mahathir said that if the party we’re able to do that, it will determine the country’s next government citing that neither Perikatan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan won’t be able to take Putrajaya on their own.
The former prime minister added that the two coalition can’t win and if they got the 36 seats, they will be put in a position to join any coalition.
He futher claims that the party already has a list of 18 MPs who already join on their side from the state of Sabah and Sarawak but failed to provide any names.
The lawmakers doesn’t need to be party members, as long as they share Pejuang’s principles.
Dr. Mahathir resign as PM in February and his former party Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, after it became clear that several lawmakers has cross over to other party leading to the PH administration’s collapse.
Mahathir said that Pejuang will remain Malay-centric to ensure that Malay economic problems will be addressed properly. He claims that only Malay-dominant party can understand and better tackle those problem to ensure that tension does not escalate.
He claims that he has seen how poor Malays, Chinese and Indians have been coping from their lifestyle. He found out that that there are poor Malays, poor Chinese and poor Indians and that it should be addressed to overcome their poverty.
“Malays meanwhile are easily satisfied, Only some would want to ope for example a business franchise. ,” He added.
