METRO MANILA – The Ministry of Health (MOH) has urged the National Security Council (MKN) for the extension of the recovery movement control order (RMCO) after August 31.

According to Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, the recommendation was in line with the World Health Organisation’s expectation that Covid-19 may last for atleast two more years.

He said that the two year expectation was a long time and different measures has been implemented by the government to curb the spread of the virus. That includes people embracing the new norm and deeper understading on how to address the virus.

Adham said that they have made recommendation to MKN and the prime minister to extend the RMCO until the situation is under control. However, the decision is still up to PM Muhyiddin.

Other countries are still struggling with the steady spike of the cases while Malaysia continues to strengthen the respnse and control to the country’s entry point and borders.

The Ministry of Health will also be implementing the active tracking method to indentify people who were linked to the Covid-19. The health minister officiated “Socso Prihatin” initiative at the Felda Bukit Besar hall, today.
