Mahathir bids farewell to Bersatu as UMNO leaves no seat for the party

PETALING JAYA – Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has symbolically made his farewell to his former party Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) while accusing its party members who back the Perikatan Nasional.

According to Dr. Mahathir, Bersatu will be left will no seat to be contested in the upcoming election as UMNO has already decided that it will contest in all constituencies.

“Goodbye Bersatu,” he said in his blog.

Dr. Mahathir said that Bersatu was involved in the fall of the Pakatan Harapan by working with UMNO.

Mahathir also claimed that the current leaders of PPBM were willing to forego their morals for government positions and money.

He added that this is the current state of Malaysian politics today. That there is money involved in politics. He also pointed out the irony that UMNO is not willing to negotiate a seat with Bersatu.

Mahathir promised that in this new party they have formed, Pejuang, they will not put themselves up for sale if elected to represent the people.

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin has confirmed yesterday that the party has decided that BN will contest all seats they had lost in the 14th general election. Including those, they lost to Bersatu. Zahidi added that if Bersatu wants to contest, they should go elsewhere.
