Malaysia and China have committed to continue to deepen cooperation as they explore new fronts on the bilateral trade, cultural and healthcare cooperation.
Two vital countries along Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) will serve as a prototype of propelling growth amid the rise of ‘US protectionism’.
Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Bai Tian said that Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) will bring growth opportunities. For 10 years China has remained Malaysia’s biggest trade partner. Last year, bilateral trade reached $77.72 billion, an 8% increase from last year.
A boost in tourism is also expected. Almost 3 million Chinese visited Malaysia in the last 3 years. “We believe these goals and objectives will make the BRI cooperation smoother, stronger, and that it will bring about more tangible benefits to all parties.” the Chinese Ambassador added.
