Nora Quoirin: Malaysian special forces unit join hunt for missing London teen

Elite police commandos has been sent to join the search and rescue effort for the British teen missing in Malaysia.

Deputy state police chief Che Zakaria Othman confirmed on Friday the elite unit of the Royal Malaysian Police called VAT69, are now helping with the search and rescue operations.

“Although we have not been successful so far, we are not giving up hope that we would be able to find the girl.” He told the reporters.

Police officers denied an earlier report that footprints have been found in the dense jungle.

The authorities are still classifying the disappearance as a missing person case, although they have not ruled out a criminal intent as Nora’s family believe she was abducted from the cottage at the Dusun resort.
