KUCHING – The first state-owned international school proposed can be expected to be ready by 2021.
State Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Datuk Seri Michael Manyin said the construction of the proposed international school at Mile 12 near the Centre for Modern Management (CMM) would start next year.
Four other schools would be built in Miri, Bintulu, Sibu and Kota Samarahan.
The schools are estimated to be about RM60 million per school will be built using funds from the 12th Malaysia Plan budget.
This was announced after a memorandum signing and exchange ceremony between the Sarawak Research and Development Council and two institutions today (Friday) Each school is expected to accommodate up to 100 students. Rural students will be given priority in the selection criteria.
