Kuala Lumpur: A woman was arrested for allegedly beating Year Five pupil at a school in Taman Shamelin near Cheras on July 3.
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zon said the incident was caused by a misunderstanding between the victim and the 45-year-old suspect.
The victim told her father that she was beaten up by the mother of one of her classmates. The father later lodged a report at the Cheras Police Station.
According to Mohamed Mokhsein, They arrested the 45-year-old woman at her house around 1am. She was then remanded until July 8, before being released on police bail.
“As a result of the incident, the girl suffered a nose and a hand injury and was taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital to receive treatment,” he added.
The police are awaiting for the victim’s medical report and will be forwarded to the deputy public prosecutor.
