MCMC terminated the contract after massive data leak

KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has terminated the contract of a firm linked to the massive data leak of subscribers’ personal details in 2014.

MCMC terminated the appointment of Nuemera (M) Sdn Bhd on Jan 26, 2018, after failing to protect the personal data of 46.2 million mobile phone accounts.

The data leak was believed to have taken place in 2014 but was only discovered last year.
