KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has reitierated that there is no consensus to dissolve Barisan Nasional as a coalition, during a press conference after the Barisan supreme council meeting on Friday.
A technical committee would be formed soon to look into the issues brought by the component parties. MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong had tabled the party’s resolution during the coalition’s supreme council meeting.
MIC on the other hand had voiced out the issues faced when Barisan was still the ruling government.
Each representative from each party (UMNO, MIC and MCA) has agreed that there was no reason to dissolve Barisan Nasional as a party.
In December last year, the MCA central committee stated that it had met and unanimously resolved to affirm the resolutions passed at the party’s 65th General Assembly on Dec 2. Among the resolutions passed was to request the dissolution of Barisan.
