PKR Branch Serdang gave strong support to Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali in his defense of deputy president’s post when he obtained 1,336 votes, defeating his opponent Rafizi Ramli, with 622 votes.
Rafizi, who received full support from the President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the party’s number 714 votes.
The victory saw Mohamed Azmin dominating six of the nine elected branches today, the King City; Sabak Bernam; Sungai Besar; Sepang; Subang and Serdang, while Rafizi stole support at the Kapar, Hulu Selangor and Kelana Jaya branches.
As for the vice-president’s post, Serdang PKR also chose candidates from Mohamed Azmin’s camp with Dr. Xavier Jayakumar got its first position when it won 1,087 votes followed by Zuraida Kamaruddin (703 votes) in second place and Tian Chua (457 votes) in fourth place.
Only S. Kesavan, the candidate from the Rafizi camp who won the third place with 675 votes and Anwar’s son Nurul Izzah was fifth.
