The PAS leadership in Kelantan today voiced unconditional support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, following a motion for a vote of no confidence against him to be tabled at the upcoming Dewan Rakyat Session.
Datuk Che Abdullah Mat Nawi, stated that all PAS representatives in the state should stand strong behind Muhyiddin ‘s leadership and be assured that the citizens will continue to help the current government.
He highlighted that those who disregard the needs of the nation and look out for themselves in today’s tough times will be dismissed by the citizens. It’s not only in Kelantan, but even nationwide, PAS overwhelmingly supports Tan Sri Muhyiddin in order to ensure the stability of the country.
In view of this, last May 8, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof shared that he had approved an application from former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for a motion to be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat to decide that Muhyiddin did not support the majority of the chamber.
Che Abdullah, who is also Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry II, said that representatives of PAS and leaders of Perikatan Nasional (PN) will continue to support Muhyiddin. In the case of a vote of no confidence, I am confident that the Prime Minister will gain adequate support. The nation is currently suffering from the epidemic of Covid-19, and the government is working to sever the chain of infection under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), and it is appropriate that leaders will offer priority to people’s well-being.
He added that they will concentrate on measures to alleviate the problems citizens face, politically and so on. Morever, Che Abdullah, who is also a Tumpat MP, said that the selection of Muhyiddin as Prime Minister by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in compliance with the Federal Constitution should be honoured by all regions. Here, we can see that the support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin increases as time goes by.
