KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s Bershi 2.0 on Wednesday (Aug 7) urged Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad to set a date for the succession plan to former rival Anwar Ibrahim.
The civil society want the PM to reveal transition between 2020 to May 2021.
“With a clear and publicly known transition plan, it would quash rumours and conspiracy theories perpetrated by those who seek to gain from the instability and see the breakup of the (ruling) coalition,” sain a statement.
Bersih 2.0 or Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections has a huge following among Malaysians. The prime minister has repeatedly promised to make Anwar the successor but without setting a definite timeline.
