Former Brazil and Barcelona forward Ronaldinho has 57 properties seized due to unpaid fines and taxes, according to a Brazilian newspaper yesterday.
The Folha de S.Paulo paper said the former World Player of the Year owes over $2.5M USD in unpaid environmental fines after illegally building a pier at his lake house in Porto Alegre.
Around $2M USD in other debts were also being pursued by creditors.
The investigation also led to the confiscation of both of his passports until the cases are resolved. The former star striker retired from football in 2015. He was voted twice as FIFA player of the year and also a World Cup winner in 2002.
