Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will not face sexual assault charges in Las Vegas ten years ago.
The accusation first became public in 2017, but the case has been dismissed due to lack of evidence, the Clark County DA office said in a statement.
Wolfson added, “Based upon a review of the information presented at this time, the allegations of sexual assault against Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Therefore, no charges will be forthcoming,”
The investigation was reopened last year at the advice of her lawyers.
It was reported that the athlete has reached a $375,000 settlement with an unidentified woman in 2010. In 2018, that woman identified herself as Kathryn Mayorga and pins the soccer star as her attacker. Investigators reopened the case on the same year,
The two first met in 2009 at a nightclub in Las Vegas where he allegedly assaulted her in a bedroom. The 34-year-old Soccer superstar has always denied the accusations.
