TTAM wants NSC out of the training programme

KUALA LUMPUR – The Table Tennis Association of Malaysia (TTAM) has hit out the involvement of the National Sports Council (NSC) in its training programme for the upcoming 2019 Philippines SEA Games in November.

This came after national paddlers Ho Ying and Karen Lyne were dropped out of the Philippines SEA Games squad after they continue to train under Beh Lee Wei.

The duo had initially signed a letter last August to undergo centralised training conducted by the TTAM.

TTAM vice-president Dr Chin Kuen Liang feels that NSC should not be involved in appointing coaches but rather facilitate the training programmes.

TTAM’s squad to the Philippines consists of 8 paddles will be sending eight paddlers to the Philippines namely MohdAshraf Haiqal Mohd Rizal, Wong Qi Shen, Choong Javen, Amos, Alice Chang Li Sian, Tee Ai Xin, I’m Li Ying and Lee Xin Ni.
