Paul Pogba agreed on a staggering £429,000-a-week deal with Paris Saint-Germain before deadline day, however it did not push through because Neymar’s proposed return to Barcelona didn’t occur.
Barcelona’s Real Madrid and PSG had their eyes on the French midfielder, who has had a mixed few years at Old Trafford.
Even the Italian outlet Calciomercato stated that the United agreed a deal to sell him to the French champions days before the transfer window closed shut.
However, Barca couldn’t meet PSG’s valuation of him, so the Brazilian’s desired transfer ultimately collapsed, making Pogba missed out on the £22million annual salary that had been put on the table by Thomas Tuchel’s side.
According to reports, they believe that Adidas have played a major role in making sure Pogba remained in Manchester. Reports also added that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was open to the idea of selling Pogba, provided the transfer occurred at the start of the transfer window and the midfielder’s fee was used to bring in more signings.
