Messaging across platforms faced issues, with connectivity problems reported on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

According to Down Detector, WhatsApp has been facing issues since 12.58 am local time, with a spike in reports around 9 am.

Some of the main complaints include issues sending or receiving messages (49%), connection (37%) and logging-in (12%).

The comments section as of 11am showed users only able to send texts, with users reporting from Kuala Lumpur; Jakarta and Bali, Indonesia; Singapore, plus Hong Kong.

WhatsApp’s official twitter account made no statement on the issue. 

However, both Facebook and Instagram tweeted having issues, stating they are aware of the problem and are working on it.
